Common questions
What is the difference between a long let and a short let in Malta?
A long let is a residential lease of six months or more, quoted per month and registered with the Housing Authority. A short let is holiday accommodation quoted per night, which requires a Malta Tourism Authority licence.
Are listings checked before they appear?
Yes — every listing is reviewed by us before it is published, and a short let must display a Malta Tourism Authority licence number. That review is an editorial check of the listing: we do not inspect the property, and we do not verify licence numbers against the MTA register. The host is responsible for the accuracy of what they publish.
