Living in Gozo

Gozo is a different proposition from Malta, not a cheaper version of it.

The commute. The Gozo Channel ferry runs from Cirkewwa to Mgarr roughly every 45 minutes, more often in summer. The crossing is about 25 minutes; the queue is the variable. Budget 90 minutes door to door from Victoria to Valletta on a good day.

What you get. More space per euro, farmhouses with private pools, and a pace that people move for rather than tolerate.

Where. Victoria for services, Xaghra and Nadur for views and space, Marsalforn and Xlendi for the sea, Ghajnsielem and Qala if the ferry is part of your week.
